First Congregational Church of Chester Library
The First Congregational Church of Chester library serves as an independent and leadership route for the edification of God’s Word. Based on the scriptures listed below, we clearly receive instructions to seek knowledge through God’s Word:
Matthew 7:7-8 (ask, seek, find)
2 Timothy 2:15 (handling the Word of truth)
Ephesians 3:4-5 (understanding the mystery of Christ)
Proverbs 2 (wisdom and knowledge)
Psalms 119 (desire for knowledge)
2 Peter 1:3-11 (supplement faith with knowledge)
2 Peter 3:18 “grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
The library serves to lead believers to a greater understanding of the Creator’s love and the need for them to be prepared to witness and disciple others. It contains Christian and appropriate non-Christian adult and children’s books, videos and DVDs.
